Experience a century of Aussie motoring without leaving your picnic rug this Australia Day.
More than 500 veteran, vintage and classic vehicles spanning 100 years of motoring will be on show at the free RACV Australia Day Picnic and Historic Vehicle Display in Melbourne on Tuesday 26 January.
Join Australia Day Ambassador and actor, John Wood, along with more than 60,000 other supporters at the picnic in the Kings Domain on Linlithgow Ave (in front of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl) from 10 am to 4 pm .
Hundreds of motoring enthusiasts dressed in period-style clothing will travel to the Kings Domain Gardens in convoys from Chadstone, Highpoint and Northland shopping centres from 8 am .
Historic vehicles on show will include a 1903 Peugeot, a 1915 Ford T Tourer, a 1928 Ford A Roadster, a 1937 Chevrolet, MGs, Cadillacs, Pontiacs and Jaguars, plus a selection of favourite Fords and Holdens.
There will be ample opportunity for families to see the vehicles while enjoying roving performers, a variety of entertainment on the main stage, free activities, give-aways and scrumptious food stalls.
A highlight of the day will be the RACV AFA Dog Flyball competition with more than 70 talented canines participating in an exciting obstacle course race.
The overall event is supported by RACV, the Australia Day Committee and the Federation of Veteran, Vintage and Classic Vehicle Clubs.
